Cookie Policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies WiseNode uses on www.wisenode.eu, why we use them and how you can manage your choices. We only place cookies that are not strictly necessary after you have given your consent in our cookie banner.
This policy applies to all language versions of the website. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we process personal data.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your computer, tablet or phone when you visit it. They let the website remember information about your visit, such as your preferences, so you do not have to enter it again.
First-party cookies are placed by WiseNode itself.
Third-party cookies are placed by other parties whose services we use, such as Google or HubSpot.
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or you delete them.
This policy also covers similar technologies, such as scripts and local storage in your browser. Where we say "cookies" in this policy, we also mean these technologies.
3. Types of cookies we use
We group our cookies into four categories. You choose per category which ones you allow, except for strictly necessary cookies.
Strictly necessary cookies make the website work and keep it secure, for example by remembering your cookie choice and protecting our contact forms against spam. They do not require consent and are always active.
Functional cookies remember your preferences and make extra features possible. They are only placed with your consent.
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the website, so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity for this. They are only placed with your consent.
Marketing cookies are used to show relevant advertising and measure campaigns. We currently do not place marketing cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
4. Cookies used on this website
The table below lists the cookies and similar technologies on this website, grouped by category. Retention is the maximum period; you can delete cookies earlier at any time (see section 7).
Name | Provider | Category | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
cookie_control | WiseNode | Strictly necessary | Stores whether you accepted, rejected or customised cookies | 30 days |
cookie_control_prefs | WiseNode | Strictly necessary | Stores which cookie categories you allowed | 30 days |
__cf_bm | HubSpot (Cloudflare) | Strictly necessary | Protects our HubSpot forms against bots | 30 minutes |
rc::a (local storage) | Google (reCAPTCHA) | Strictly necessary | Checks that a form is filled in by a person and not by a bot | Until deleted |
_ga | Google (Analytics) | Analytics | Distinguishes unique visitors | 2 years |
_ga_406LRZZT3G | Google (Analytics) | Analytics | Keeps track of your session and page views | 2 years |
_clck | Microsoft (Clarity) | Analytics | Stores the Clarity visitor ID and preferences, so your page views on this website are linked to one visitor | 1 year |
_clsk | Microsoft (Clarity) | Analytics | Connects multiple page views into a single session recording | 1 day |
Videos from YouTube and Vimeo may also place cookies once you play them. These are described in section 5.
5. Third-party services and embedded content
Some pages load content or services from other parties. These parties may receive your IP address and can place their own cookies. Their use of your data is governed by their own privacy and cookie policies.
Google Tag Manager loads our analytics tools. It does not place cookies itself and only activates Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity when you allow analytics cookies. Google Privacy Policy
Microsoft Clarity shows us how visitors use our pages through heatmaps and anonymised session recordings. Text you type into fields is masked and not recorded. Clarity receives the visitor and session ID from Google Analytics, so we can link a recording to the matching visit in Google Analytics. Microsoft Privacy Statement and Clarity cookie overview
HubSpot provides our contact forms. When you submit a form, your details are sent to HubSpot, which we use to follow up on your request. To protect the forms against spam, HubSpot's bot protection (Cloudflare) and Google reCAPTCHA store the items listed as strictly necessary in section 4; HubSpot does not place tracking cookies on this website (Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service). HubSpot Cookie Policy
YouTube and Vimeo videos are only loaded after you click play. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and Vimeo's "do not track" setting, which limit the data these platforms collect. Once a video plays, they may still store information in your browser. YouTube/Google Privacy Policy and Vimeo Cookie Policy
OpenStreetMap provides the map tiles on our partners page. Your browser loads these tiles from OpenStreetMap's servers; no cookies are placed. OSMF Privacy Policy
GTranslate provides the machine-translated versions of this website (French, German, Spanish and Italian) on separate subdomains, such as fr.wisenode.eu. GTranslate Privacy Policy
6. Your consent
When you first visit our website, a cookie banner asks for your consent. You can:
Accept all cookies;
Reject all cookies except strictly necessary ones;

Until you make a choice, we only place strictly necessary cookies. Your choice is stored for 30 days and applies to all language versions of this website. After 30 days, we ask for your consent again.
Changing or withdrawing your consent
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via Cookie settings. Switch the categories you want on or off and save your preferences. If you withdraw consent for a category, we remove its cookies from your browser on your next page view.
7. Enabling, disabling and deleting cookies
Most browsers let you view, block and delete cookies through their settings. If you block all cookies, some parts of our website may not work properly, such as the contact forms. Instructions for the most common browsers:
You can also stop Google Analytics from collecting your data on all websites by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
8. Your rights
Where cookies involve personal data, you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of that data, the right to object and the right to data portability. Our Privacy Policy explains these rights in more detail. To exercise them, please contact us using the details below.
If you have a complaint about how we handle your data, we would like to hear from you first. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

We may update this Cookie Policy when our website or the cookies we use change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
